Say It Visually!, a member of the Common Craft Explainer Network, recently published this video that explains the impact of the 2010 Census on communities and focuses on encouraging participation among people of color.

This format is a new one for Say It Visually and it's great to see them taking video explanation in new directions. I think the hand-painted style fits really well with the voice-over and music by Keb'-Mo'. It has a heart-felt feel that may have been hard with animation. What do you think?

Boring & Slanted

I thought this video format was boring because I felt like I was in an art gallery staring at a static painting while someone talked about its meaning.

Secondly, the content is warped and politically incorrect and something is saying to me that an anti-video will be created to counter some of the arguments made in this video.

Who is this video for? Two

Who is this video for? Two minutes in and I was already distracted by something else. The voice-over AND the music is too much. The painting is nice and all, but I started to lose track of what I was actually looking at.

In terms of new media and using video to get the message out, this is not going to do the job. It's nice, but probably won't reach the most people or even the audience to which it is trying to target.

Thank you!

This is a wonderful explanation! Thank you!!

Not catchy enough

I found the video, to be brutally honest really boring. I was expecting something a bit more funy and entertaining. I think a bit of humour and a more upbeat voice talent would have change this for the good.
