Common Craft in Inc. Magazine

A few months back April Joyner of Inc. Magazine contacted me to talk about the growth of videos as a sales tool. I wasn't really sure what the article's angle, but spoke from our experience in working with clients on videos that explain their products. The article is now online and in the print magazine.
My big points came out (mostly accurately) as:
- It's not about how something works, it's why anyone should care about
- The script is really important, write it first
- Keep it short
The article also profiles the video experiences of iPhone app company Smule, Kiva Systems and has a mention of our friends at Wistia. Check it out.

Lee, Kudos on appearing in
Lee,
Kudos on appearing in Inc. very cool.
Your three key points shine through in your videos. Those are the same principles I'm trying to teach to my students as they prepare to create videos for a classroom project. In fact I show them one of your videos as a model. And true to teenage form, they're all groaning that I make them actually write the script, but they'll be better for it. :)

Your point about why anyone shd care about what one is presenting is a very good one. Whenever I start by establishing the relevance and value of my presentation, the audience gets hooked up.
Unfortunately many presenters spend more time pushing content without initially determining the broad structure. I think we owe it to the audience.
I am captivated by your method - its simplicity and lucidity. I hv become its fan. It is gr8. Keep up the good work!
