Interview for IT Conversations by Jon Udell
By leelefever on August 1, 2008 - 3:12pm.
Recently I spent some time with Jon Udell for an episode of IT Conversations. Jon posted the interview today. I just listened to it and nothing I said made me cringe, so I thought I'd share it here with you. :)
We talked about the evolution of the Common Craft format, different learning styles, off board brains and explanation problems, among other things.
Have a listen or download it on the IT Conversations blog post.
Thanks a lot for the opportunity Jon! I think it came out really well.

Your awesome
i wish u were my teacher, i learned alot on this page.
Your interview on IT conversations
Loved listening to your interview and how CommonCraft works, but I fell out of my chair when you were talking about the difficulty "experts" have explaining their own ideas. I hit that problem few years ago when I tried to encourage my students to SHARE their understandings. Afterwards, one student came to me asked why I didn't explain the concept and I replied "it has been 30 years since I moved from a "no calculus" state and a "with calculus" state. I don't remember how I made that transition. Your fellow classmates are more likely to remember the "lightbulb" moment and what triggered it. I was so excited to hear someone else recognize the same issue.
Keep up the fantastic work, both of you.
Frank
