Our very own Sachi LeFever is the "Geek of the Week" on the Big Blog at the Seattle PI. The Geek of the Week is a series of short interviews that highlight local Seattle geeks. Last week's geek was Bryan Zug.

My favorite answer:

When did you first know you were a geek? Describe that moment: My first grade teacher scolded me for finishing too many Schoolhouse Math worksheets, so I began sneaking them until I finished the entire box.

I've been wanting to tell that story for a while. It's sooo Sachi. As it turns out, Sachi is a geek in some ways, but not the sci-fi-loving kind. Read the interview.

Just a quick congrats to Sachi for passing her exam yesterday. She is now a PMI Project Management Professional (PMP).

Of course, since she started studying and having the book (above) around the house, I had to take every opportunity to call it the PIMP exam and make lewd references whenever money is exchanged between us.

Popcorn With Your Sewer Scope?

This morning Sachi had a fun job - participating in a "sewer scoping" with someone from a company called Hydro Physics. It's like a colonoscopy for a sewer line. They feed a camera down into a house's sewer pipes to look for problems.

The whole process is video taped and before Sachi left she received a video tape (yes, VHS) of the inside of the sewer line. But the tape was not the only take home - she also received two packs of microwave popcorn for our viewing pleasure. The sewer scope guy is giving out popcorn with his sewer movies. So you know what we're doing tonight!

Really though, I think this is a great example of a positive customer service experience. That popcorn costs them pennies, but makes a great impression.

Last night my wife Sachiko and I were talking about a trip we're thinking of taking in the next couple of years. As we talked over the evening, it became a brainstroming session on all the things we needed to remember, manage, discuss, archive, etc.

After a little while, I said "Hey, what if we had an online place to keep all this information?"

Sachiko's first words were, "We could use a wiki!"

All I could think was- I love this girl.
