Over the years, we've received hundreds of suggestions for video titles. We've evaluated them based on a few criteria to ensure these titles are a good fit for a Common Craft video. Now, with a few guidelines, we believe Common Craft members can help us decide on the next great ones.
Common Craft videos should be:
Timeless - We want Common Craft videos to be valuable and accurate over time. This means that we are less interested in current news stories because they often develop over time as new facts become available.
Apolitical - We want to steer clear from most issues that take a stance on hot political topics.
About Ideas vs. Products - We've made a number of videos about products, but prefer to focus on the overall ideas or concepts behind the products. An example is focusing on Social Networking versus Facebook.
A Categorical Fit - While we are open to diverse titles, we want to make sure that future videos add to our current categories.
At the end of the day, new titles have to pass the "Lee and Sachi Test" and the factors above are an important part of our evaluation, but not the final word. Please keep those suggestions coming!
