Over the last couple of days John Robb has been analyzing Return on Investment and uses of weblogs in the organization. It seems like an off-the-cuff analysis, but does provide some great perspectives. He uses the work "k-log" to mean knowledge log. Which I like better than "blog". I really dislike the word blog for some reason.
ROI calculations: K-Logs vs. traditional Intranet Portals
K-Log Productivity: Time to find and availability
John also started a "k-log" Yahoo Group where members discuss the uses of weblogs in knowledge management- going way back to 2001.
All-in-all an impressive assortment of resources for folks who believe in the power of weblogs.
