Wiki in the Family

By leelefever on November 28, 2004 - 10:44am.

Last night my wife Sachiko and I were talking about a trip we're thinking of taking in the next couple of years. As we talked over the evening, it became a brainstroming session on all the things we needed to remember, manage, discuss, archive, etc.

After a little while, I said "Hey, what if we had an online place to keep all this information?"

Sachiko's first words were, "We could use a wiki!"

All I could think was- I love this girl.

Wiki in the Family

Very cool. There are probably many different uses of collaborative technologies within the family.

I imagine that premade starter templates could be handy for travel, weddings, home improvement planning.

Are folks working on wikis with integrated calendar/reminder functions that would be useful for family projects?

I'd be curious about that too Scott. I asked Sachiko about using a wiki for our wedding last summer and she said it could have been very helpful- but I guess we didn't think about it.

Now, my brother is getting married next year and we wish we had that wiki we could open to them that contained all the things we kept track-of in our planning.
