Meet Splainers - The Newest Member of Our Explainer Network
By leelefever on March 02, 2009 - 11:06am
I recently wrote about a project called the Common Craft Explainer Network. The big idea is to help connect prospects looking for custom explanatory videos with talented producers.
I'm excited to report that we now have 4 members of the Explainer Network. Our newest member is Splainers - a small company from Issaquah, WA just around the corner from Seattle that specializes in simple presentations that use 3D modeling. Splainers joins great group of talented producers who not only make awesome videos, but work together to create visibility and demand for explanation as skill and craft.
You can find listings for Splainers and all members on the Explainer Network.

Pricing ballpark
Obviously, there are many factors that go into any Splainer's billing for a video, but can anyone give a RANGE of $$$ for a simple 3-4 minute video?
Thanks,

@ Reading Buddy
I believe - with the kind of popularity CC is having with its videos, if CC starts offering Custom Made videos to companies/sites, then it can be another great avenue for good revenues for Lee & Co.
@Lee
Congrats for getting another one up your sleeve. :p

Congratz.. are you looking for the fifth explainer ?

there is a great market for this sort of thing and video is fast becoming the best medium for getting sales online. What packages do you they use? 3DS max, maya. Also do they use adobe after effects?

Pricing
Like Reading Buddy, I was wondering why there was such a wide range of pricing out there for short videos. What is a reasonable cost for a short video?
Pricing
I was also wondering what this would cost. It is interesting but is it something that only major sites can afford or is it in the price range of a small site.

Always comes down to $$$
Great idea here, for alot of us having to keep the $ in check, remember, as your business grows, keep reinvesting back into and upgrading and a service like this would definitely come in handy.

Not Suprising, Cream Rises To Top
Great to hear that. I've been reading the blog here for quite a while, and judging by everything I've seen I's sure the video production is highly successful. Besides, I don't know anyone else offering this service (though I admin I haven't looked). The cream rises to the top, so they say.

Keep it up !
Glad to see this site is still expanding. Keep up the great work, i am your long time subscriber :)
@Van
Yeah - I completely agree what you say.
Many people tend to take away all the profits and sit on the success they have already had. But if one wants to grow - he/she must re-invest as much as possible and look for newer horizons for more success. Thats the way to go.
I'm glad that Explainer
I'm glad that Explainer network is growing bigger. Congratulations guys I hope Splainers will be a great addition to the project.
Great idea, is it affordable?
Our going public services firm just had a video made, however, I can see the need for many more videos. Video says so many things in a very compact time frame and as a teaching tool it's unrivaled.
